Some of our learners were arriving at school hungry so the Gardening Project was a strategy initiated to combat the problems of trying to teach a hungry child. This project also equips the learners with skills on how to plant and harvest organic vegetables. This benefits the learners as they can drink soup made from the organic vegetables.

We received assistance from Convista, Food & Trees for Africa, Department of Agriculture and Department of Education for the initiation and maintenance of the garden. Due to their kind contributions our garden project has been a major success. Some educators were sent for training at permaculture in Bergndale. RSM Betty & Dickson also adopted the school and sponsored towards the gardening initiative, for example, fencing the playgrounds for the learners amongst many other donations. We managed to employ a gardener with the help of the Department of Education. This project is strictly intended to benefit the learners.
